A Chapbook

I put together a small chapbook at the end of last year of all of the poems I had written in my fall semester. Since I have come to college I find myself writing far more academically, but far less creatively. I suppose this is to be expected, and I have come to love academic writing so I am not particularly upset, except that I have a latent fear that if I spend enough time not writing creatively, I will somehow lose the ability to do so entirely.

It took me a while to decide to share this. I guess I have never really felt like a Good Poet, and so I never felt my work was worth the validation of my sharing it with other people. I don't know what changed my mind about the whole thing. Perhaps sharing this will motivate me to write more? All I know is that it is a Sunday morning, and I've booked a trip to New York for Wednesday on a fantastical whim, and I suddenly remembered this little chapbook wasting away in the Documents folder.

Animal theater seems to be a sad thing. I am not saying that we need to end it, but it is not that good. We should not use animals for our amusement. If we can go and do things that are better for the animals, then that is what we should do. I hope that people are okay with what I am talking about. I really do think that it is what we need to do, that is what I believe.
